Staff in this section evaluate and classify positions under the
State Universities Civil Service System and recommend the creation and/or revision of
class specifications to the Civil Service System.
They also establish and implement policies and procedures related to
wage and other forms of compensation for Civil Service Staff.
Services include:
- reviewing position descriptions for new or existing positions
- evaluating individual positions
- providing assistance in writing job descriptions
- recommending the creation and/or revision of class specifications.
Services include:
- reviewing and approving over the line hire requests greater than 10%
above the minimum
- processing salary increases
- evaluating, recommending, and implementing changes to staff
compensation plans
- establishing and reevaluating salary grade assignments.
- conducting and participating in salary surveys and collecting and
analyzing market data.
